GIFT WRAPPERS AND CUSTOMERS NEEDED!  

Mark your calendar to buy your holiday gifts and enjoy seeing our scholars in action on Friday, December 12 at Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Potomac Yard. A percentage of purchases made in the store, or on-line, will benefit the GWMS PTA. As you enjoy Thanksgiving, be sure to let friends and family know about the fundraiser. Even if you, or they, cannot make the in-store event, you can buy gifts from Barnes and Noble on-line from December 12-16 and benefit our school by entering our Bookfair ID #11346442 at checkout. If you and/or your middle schooler would like to volunteer for an hour between 4-9 on December 12 to help gift-wrap for tips to benefit the PTA, please email Suzanne Doggett at gm...@aol.com. CONGRATULATIONS, ORCHESTRA MEMBERS!

The rigorous District X Honors Orchestra auditions were held last Tuesday, and 19 GWMS musicians were accepted!  (That breaks the previous record of 13 GWMS students.) 4 GWMS violinists (of the 126 total who auditioned) ranked in the top five, including Mina Boyd, the Concertmistress. Congratulations to the talented students and their wonderful orchestra teacher, Mr. Jonathan Jones! Here is the full list of GWMS musicians who will be performing with the Honors Orchestra in January at Falls Church High School:

SUPPORT OUR ARTISTS AND HANDLE YOUR HOLIDAY STAMP NEEDS!

Art students have produced special prints that are available on USPS .49 stamps, available in 20 stamp books! The images are attached - good luck choosing - but you can order as many images as you like (each book includes a single image). Cost is $22 per book, to cover design costs as well as supporting our student artists. First order will be placed on 11/25; late orders will be placed 12/1-5. Stamps should arrive within 5 days. Please email Art Teacher Janice Rollins ASAP at janice....@acps.k12.va.us to place an order or with any questions. 

ATTENTION GWMS TEAM 7-3 FAMILIES AND FRIENDS:
Team 7-3 teachers are organizing a civics project for students to honor local wounded veterans and active duty service members, and the team leaders are looking for monetary or material donations for the supplies needed. Your help in supporting the students as they create these projects to give back to our community is greatly appreciated! If you are able to donate funds, fleece fabric or mailing boxes for this project, please submit to Team 7-3 Social Studies teacher, Ms. Brittany Feiler, who can be contacted at brittan...@acps.k12.va.us.
