Join our new principals and administrative teams for a series of orientations to kick off the new academic year:

8/28  6th Grade Welcome and Open House 5:00 pm (Gym) Orientation and social immediately following. Come enjoy some pizza, cool off with a popsicle, and learn about about GW.

Student team assignments, schedules and information about where to go on the first day will be mailed the last week of August to the home address on file. PTA DIRECTORY - FORM NOW ONLINE
The PTA will publish a school directory again this year - please help by responding as soon as possible. You will not be included if you do not provide the information. Want to get a jump on the big stack of forms coming home via backpack the first day? Please respond online here. Fill out a separate form for each child at GW - you will be offered the chance to fill out another online when you finish the first form. If your child lives in two households and you would like to include both, please fill out a separate form for each. Please type carefully - we will use exactly what you submit!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR A FUNdraiser!


Come enjoy a wine tasting with light snacks in October @ the Curious Grape.  You will sample 6 different wines, help raise $$ for our PTA, and get to meet parents in your child’s grade.  Tickets are $50 per person, with $20 going right to our PTA. 


Dates:

·        6th grade parents – October 2

·        7th grade parents – October 9

·        8th grade parents – October 16.

 

Plus, for the entire month of October, if you dine in or purchase anything at the Curious Grape, just tell them you are there to support GWMS and 15% of your bill will go back to our school! Purchase your tickets today before the tickets sell out!

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE NEEDS YOUR HELP

* Barnes & Noble Book Event - December 12. GWMS receives a portion of in store and online sales.
* Outreach - help our PTA reflect the diversity of our school and meet the needs of all families. Language skills needed!
* Reflections - we need someone to keep GW in this national program, which encourages students to explore and express themselves through art. This year's theme is The World Would Be a Better Place If … Training and materials provided!
* Book Room - help maintain order and touch the lives of every student at GW!

TC WILLIAMS CREW OPEN HOUSE/ORIENTATION Saturday September 6, 10AM at the boathouse (1 Madison Street in Old Town, Alexandria) for anyone who would like a tour or to meet the coaches. This is not for the purpose of registering as all rowers are by now already signed up for Fall Crew and besides, our registration is now online! The Fall Crew program officially begins on Monday Sep 8. The program is full but there is a wait list. For any questions or to be placed on the wait list, please contact Novice Liaison, Sarah Conrad at sbcon...@gmail.com. We hope to see you there!
