PTA MEETING TIME CHANGE IN JANUARY - 7:30pm

Due to the 7th & 8th Grade Science Fair, our meeting will begin at 7:30 on January 13. Hope to see you there!

 

BACKPACK ALERT -  IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM ACPS

Technical difficulties occurred throughout ACPS last week during CRT testing - a letter will come home this week with explanation and follow up.

LET'S WRAP IT UP TOGETHER AT BARNES & NOBLE THIS FRIDAY!

Come finish your holiday shopping at Barnes and Noble, Potomac Yard this Friday, December 12. The orchestra and choir will perform between 5-6. There will be suggested reading/video lists from some of our teachers.  The GW PTA receives a percentage of the sales and all of the tips earned for our expert wrapping. And remember, on-line sales also count from December 12-16. Just enter our ID number (11346442) at checkout and the PTA will get credit for the purchase. SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR STARTS THIS WEEK!

The GWMS Library Media Center is hosting a Winter Scholastic Book Fair from Tuesday December 9th through Wednesday evening, December 17, 2014. We are open during school hours, plus on December 17th our Family Event is from 6:30 until 7:30 pm where you will find all sorts of great reading for the winter break before you enjoy GW's Band Concert.

We are in need of parent volunteers to help staff the fair, so if you can donate half an hour or more, please phone the library at 703-706-4522 to schedule a time.

Not only does the Book Fair help raise funds to purchase library resources, it encourages reading among our students. We invite you to our school to share in this celebration of books and reading. Stop by the Teacher Wish List Table and help add books to our classroom shelves by purchasing books and donating them to your child's class. See you at our Winter Book Fair!
