Greetings,



The United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County, Inc. will host the 14th
Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Monday, January 20,
2014 in Lawrenceville, GA. The theme: “Strengthening our Community,
Nation and World” underscores the importance of knowledge,
empowerment, and wellness for us all. The parade kick off will be
held at the gazebo at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse located at 185
Crogan Street in Lawrenceville at 10:00am. The parade concludes at
Moore Middle School which is located at 1221 Lawrenceville Highway
(HWY 29) at the intersection of Johnson Road. Iconic Olympian, Tommie
Smith will be the grand marshal.



A free health fair will take place upon arrival to Moore Middle
School. Attendees of the health fair will benefit from free
preventative health screenings and educational opportunities. Free
educational materials will be provided for heart disease, stroke,
blood pressure , breast cancer, domestic violence awareness, vision &
dental screening, help for the homeless , sickle cell, fire safety ,
health & wellness, Affordable HealthCare Act resources, etc. The
health fair will take place until 2:30pm.
