cannot install GWD

Hello everyone,
I cant seem to install the program at all on my PC at home.

It alerts: "Installation failed. The Google Web Designer installer failed to start."

Help? :)

Hi,

Please check the followings.

- Installer (googlewebdesigner_win.exe) shows 800KB when downloaded. 799KB (819,144 byte) on my Windows7 in the properties.

- The installer "Google Update Setup" above is a meta-installer, means it downloads the runtime from the server. So the installer needs an internet connection.

- GWD needs administrator privileges to install.

- I'm not sure if you see "Show me help for this issue" button in the installer dialog when your installation failed. 

If there is, please click it to see the help page and let us know what you see in the page.

Everything is just like you said.

1. The installer is in the correct size.
2. There is an internet connection.
3. I'm an administrator
4. The button does not do a thing..

I was hoping for a simple solution but it looks difficult for us to see the cause of the problem at this point.

There is an installer help page for the installation error.

https://support.google.com/installer/contact/unknown_error

You have to submit a log file from there then the installer team will investigate it.

Or you might find a solution from other Google's products like Chrome as Google shares the same installer. 

I see similar reports in their forum like the following thread.
