Resize the page size for web page not ad

It seems that when I look up resize page everything comes up about ads. I guess this program is mainly for making ads although it was ad-vertised to be a web page designer also.

In any event I created a page that is 1800 pixels wide and now after I have laid out some components I want to make it smaller, maybe 1700 or 1600 but every time I change the width it leaves a shadow of the original size and when I preview it the original size is still there.

How can I resize the page so that it changes it in the design and in the published page?

Never mind I found the view port control button.
