gwdiframe_min.js prevents iFrame popup links from being clickable with the sandbox parameter being hardcoded. Since this property is written with this JS script I need to manually adjust this sandbox parameter each time I preview or publish the banner.

I would like to request this attribute exposed in the properties panel of the iFrame component like Source and Name and Scrolling

Thanks

Hi Nick,

I've filed a feature request for this. It's great to hear from you so we know this iframe component is being used.

Thanks,
San

Hi San,

Yes we use it on every banner we develop for our Fortune 500 client :)

Please let me know if that is something you might make configurable

Keep up the good work!

Hi Nick,

Can you please let me know where your ad is served? Is it on DoubleClick network or a non-Google ad network?

Also, is allow-popup the only attribute you need to add to the iframe sandbox?

Thanks,
San

Hello

Thanks for asking for detailed questions.

We upload all banners for our client directly into Google Studio.

The sandbox setting is all we really need to have configurable. Maybe you can add a free text field for other attrubutes?

Thank you !

Thanks for getting back to us. You mentioned sandbox setting is all you need. Is it sandbox allow-popup attribute only?

We thought of using a free text field but not sure what sandbox attributes are really allowed in DoubleClick and other ad networks due to security reason. If allow-popup is the only attribute you need, we can add it as a checkbox for doubleclick environment.

Yes we need to just turn off the sandbox attribute entirely or just allow it to be editable. I understand there are many optional values in this new HTML5 attribute on I frames.

Right now we have to manually edit the published file in order to have clickable links function inside the iframe.

Nick,

We still need to discuss the allow-popup attribute internally to see if it's a good idea to expose it in the UI due to security. AdWords does not allow this sandbox allow-popup attribute at all.

In the meantime, have you tried using the iframe tag instead of the iframe component and add the sandbox attributes in code view? It will not be overridden. Select the tag tool, click on the 4th subtool for custom element, enter iframe in the custom element field, type in iframe, draw iframe tag on stage.

Thanks,

That is an interesting approach;let me try that while you review my request :)

I understand the security measures and appreciate you all on the GWD team and this open forum.

Thank you for the workaround.  It works!

I think we can proceed with approach this until you respond with your findings on the feature request.

Any word on this update? We have a client who wants a clickable url in their text scroll (their a pharmaceutical company) and we can't get the hyperlinked text to open unless we right-click it.
