I feel like I must be overlooking something very obvious, but I can't work out how to transition a color in the Basic view.
If I create an object with background color then add a new keyframe and update the background color, it changes in all previous (and future) keyframes too. I've tried everything that appears obvious to me, but can't get around this.

Hi, do you see the transition in preview mode (browser)? So it is here, I don't see the transition in google web designer, but see it in browser.

If you use the shape tool to draw a canvas object, that's the expected behavior because you cannot animate the color of the canvas. Please try drawing a DIV using the Tag tool instead and you should be able to animation its background color..
