Youtube Component Error

Hi,

I've created an ad containing the YouTube video component that I 'd like to use as Adwords Display Ad. The video is 30 sec long and I am not sure why I get this error message:

The ad you uploaded contains HTML5 code that we can not allow in our ads: gwd-youtube Please make sure that your ad meets our policy requirements, and remove any references to the tags above.

Can you help me solve this?

Hi Lily,

AdWords does not support the youtube component.

In our next release, you will be notified at author-time in Google Web Designer when an unsupported component is used for AdWords.

Why does the component exists and how can we use youtube videos on google display ads?

We list all the components because of a couple of reasons:

1. We never know when AdWords will decide to support the components.

2. Even though you might have picked AdWords when creating a new file, the published creatives can actually run on both AdWords and DoubleClick platform, unless you use dynamic.

You can use YouTube videos on DoubleClick platform.

Finally got a definite answer about this, I've been trying to use video / youtube for a few days and formats and wasn't able to.

I've saw some ads with youtube video background, didn't know it was exclusive for the DoubleClick platform.

Do you know if Google ever plans on releasing this component for Adwords?

Hi Alexandre,

I cannot speak for AdWords but I know there is no plan to support the Google Web Designer YouTube component for AdWords because AdWords video ad is different.
