I created an HTML5 banner ad with GWD. But there was a problem the ad got rejected that its not working as expected in IE9.

I don't have an Internet explorer since i am running a Mac. And the that was just a load animation that wasn't working as expected.

The animations done with GWD interface without using code view.

GWD team might want to take a look into that.

Hi,

GWD creates animations using CSS3 animation. Internet Explorer 9 does not support CSS 3 animation. However, Internet Explorer 10 does.

Thanks,

Then whats the point of having animations in tool if it doesn't support backward compatibility. I spent time to create the ad in that tool and google rejected it stating its not working in IE9. If i have to create an ad which is backward compatible why should i even use Google web designer.

Just now I tested the file. The initial animation is not working in IE10 also. You guys should take this seriously. Either support animations in IE or have a backward compatible feature on it like setting different style for IE.

Hi,

Please provide more details about the initial animation that is not working in IE10 so we can investigate.

Thanks,

Its weird. Initial animation works well in 'Preview' from the GWD. But sliding animation in swipable image gallery is not working. In the published file. The initial animation is not working. but the sliding animations in swipable image gallery is working fine.

CSS3 property 'transition' is not working in preview but works fine in published file.

Also i cannot able to set specific styles to IE using <!--[if IE]> during publishing the code is removed by GWD. It seemed like easy for to create the ad with this. Now I am totally wasting time figuring a way around to fix the issues for IE browsers.

I work on the runtime time code for animations. Could you send me your unpublished ninja file so I can reproduce the issue?

Thanks,

Hi,

GWD outputs CSS3 animations, which are not supported in IE 9. They are supported in IE 10 and newer versions.

Please take a look at the following discussions for more information:

If GWD outputs CSS3 animations not supported in IE9 then I query the value of GWD to any serious Web designer? IE9 is probably the most popular IE used by the majority of computers out there. IE10 and IE11 are known to be unstable, even Microsoft has a patch to stop IE10 been automatically updated on Win 7 machines! If it won’t work with IE9 then it won’t work with IE8 which is used by all the computers still running XP! I know its only a BETA release, but if it doesn’t work on what are arguably the most widely used Browsers in the world, what’s the point!
