sprite sheet sliding

I'm trying to use a sprite sheet of 101 images (attached).

When I set it up and preview, the animation slides and doesn't proceed in a stepped fashion.

The sprite sheet component is too buggy. I can get better results hand animating the div.

is there a format to follow when creating a sprite sheet? should it be power of 2? Number of frames? Square? resolution? why is there a blank frame at the end of the loop?

this topic isn't very popular , nobody runs into this issue?
