I am having an issue this morning where when ever I go to file / open to open a document or import a image to the library no files or folders show up for up to 10 minutes at times.  Once they show up, if I have to browse to an other folder I have to wait all over again.

Also, there is a delay from selecting the file I want to open/import and the open button in the dialog becoming available to click.  It sits grayed out for awhile.

This is on Mac OS X 10.10.  Restarting my Macbook is not resolving the issue.

Hi Christopher,

I'm sorry you're running into this issue. Can you please check something for me? Open the templates gallery (Use templates in the Start screen or File > New from templates...) and check to see if all the templates are loaded? Do you happen to be on a slow internet connection? We have a known issue that while the templates are loaded, other operations are slowed down. But it usually takes just a minute a or and not 10 minutes unless the internet connection is extremely slow.

Thanks,
San

Hi San,

I just checked the templates.  They all appear to be loaded. However, the issue with browser for files to to open / import still remains.

I'm on a corporate lan right now and according to http://speedtest.xfinity.com/ I have 52.3 down right now and 28.8 up.

Once thing discovered by accident this morning is I can make all the files / folders appear by double clicking on the top of the open dialog window and making the dialog full screen.  Then if I need to go into a sub folder (where the issue happens again), double clicking to make the open dialog smaller makes all the files and folders appear again.

FYI, this is with GWD version 1.9.0.0619

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Can you please launch Google Web Designer and let it sit for a while, overnight if possible. We suspect that it's the template downloading that might have block the file IO. Another thing you can check for us is to see how big the gwdtemplates folder is by doing a get info on this folder:
  • Mac: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Google/Web Designer/webapp/gwdtemplates
Thanks,

Let GWD open over night to bake and prevented my mac from going to sleep.

Issue still exists today.

Hi Christopher,

Do you turn on any specific display settings on the Mac such as Cover Flow?

We cannot seem to be able to reproduce this on our side. The open window we use is the standard NSOpenPanel so I think it could be an issue with the OSX SDK we are using. I'm still investigating.
