It would be ace if we could insert new sections or delete sections from the timeline. Dragging the keyframes around and lining them up over and over again gets old fast.

Hi,
I wonder if I am understanding correctly your suggestion, but are you asking inserting 'frames' in timeline?

Adding  keyframes can be done via F6 key or Right-click contextual menu " Insert keyframe"
Deleting keyframe can be done via F5 key or Right-click contextual menu " Remove keyframe"

Adding multiple keyframes can be done with multiple elements selected, but removing multiple keyframes is not currently supported.

Thanks,
Mariko (GWD team)

It's my fault for not explaining myself correctly.
Say I'm working on a long sequence, but I changed my mind about a small section and remove the keyframes. Now it looks like this

x-x-----------------------x--x--x---x-----x
-x------------------------x-----x---------x
--x-----------------------x--x------x------

Ideally i would just highlight the middle section and delete the section where nothing is happening. The keyframes would automatically shift to the left. Like video editing. The tool the way it is now means I need to grab each keyframe and drag it manually to the left whilst remembering the gaps and alignment. Does that make more sense now?

Thanks
Ian

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

GWD doesn't have the concept of removing frames, and it doesn't have a way of adjusting the total animation duration per layer. (You can do so in Code View)

Currently, when you select a span between 2 keyframes by double-clicking, then move, it maintains the duration of the span, so in this way, it might be a bit tedious but you can adjust the length of the animation layers.
- Double-click one of the animation span, which should be highlighted
- Holding down the shift key, then double-click another span in another layer
- Still holding down the shift key, double-click another span in another layer
- Move all together simultaneously

Hope this will help a little in terms of workaround, but thanks for suggesting a better way of adjusting timeline duration, removing frames...etc.
Thanks,
Mariko (GWD team)
