Hi,

recently I notice on DCM that all my html5 ADs which I created using Google Web Designer it automatically generated multiple click URLs (ClickTags) at CDM upload. Any one knows why? Is it possible to just have one?

Steps I follow to create my clickTag. I simply used the Tap area component, then added an event touch/Click. >> select Google AD >>Exit>>gwd-ad>>and finally add the click URL.

Once I upload the file within DCM, it shows me that I have the following two click tags with in the same creative.

ClickTag

gwd-taparea_1: Exit

Thank you for you all your support.

Hi ,

When you add a TapArea component in an ad it adds a default gwd-taparea:Exit . It will not affect your ads ClickTag counter.

Hi Sukhbir,

First, let me thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Apologies for my late reply. As per your answer the "gwd-taparea:Exit" clickTag it's auto generated by default from Google Web Designer. Question, is there a way for google web designer not to auto generate the extra clickTag? If yes, please let me know how.

My GWD AD performance data report within DCM show impressions and clicks for both clickTags, the auto generated "gwd-taparea:Exit" and the one we created. As you can see this is confusing because to get proper performance results on a creative we will have to add the clicks and impressions information from both clickTags. Aditinally, within the report the auto generated clickTag Click-trought URL is currently displayed as Not Set (not set) instead a displaying the designated landing page. This is actually very concerning because we have no information on where the AD is landing.

Here is an example of how my report gets displayed:

Ad Creative Click-through URL Impressions Clicks
AUTO GENERATED clickTag - DE_300x250 AD063_300x250 (not set) 527 1
My clickTag  DE_300x250 AD063_300x250 https://mydomain.com/?CMP=%psalesforce=!; 1299 3

Hi Antonio,

We will have an update in our next release to not show the auto generated gwd-Taparea exit counter . But for now In DCM you can remove this by selecting the exit and deleting it. Please see the screenshot .

The auto generated "gwd-taparea:Exit" shouldn't add any counts. I tried it internally and it is working properly.
Can you please contact the DCM support to see why it is adding click counts in your Ad ?

Thanks
Sukhbir
