Previewing is no longer working on Chrome or Firefox, now it just shows a blank page. This used to work and not no more. In order for me to preview it, I have to upload the banners to Double Click Studio. Any suggestions? Thx

Hi DJ Woody,

So previewing the banner from Studio is fine, but not when you preview locally from GWD? What version of Chrome and Firefox are you using for preview?

Do you know if you have any Ad-blocking extension installed and enabled in the browsers? Have you tried disabling them before preview?

Would it be okay for us to take a look at your working files? Please attach to this post or send it to gwd-s...@google.com.

Thanks,
Emily (GWD Team)

Yes.

I made a quick video showing you what I mean. In the video I use Chrome, Firefox & Safari. It doesn't preview on any browser and I also don't have any ad blockers installed. You can see my plugins in the video.

Quick note, I noticed that no ads from any source are showing on any browser. I wonder if that has anything to do with it and I wonder how that's possible if I don't have any adblockers installed.

Hi DJ Woody,

Thanks for your video. It is really strange that your banner preview as blank in all three browsers.

Does the problem happen to that particular file only? Can you create a brand new file and try preview?

Can you try the following things to narrow down the issue?

1) Clear the browser cache and preview

2) When preview the file in browser, right click on mouse and select "Inspect element" to open the browser console, see if there is any errors (take a screenshot of it if there is one)

3) In Chrome, disable the Chrome Cast extension and preview

4) In Chrome, go to Settings > System, uncheck "use hardware acceleration" (you may need to restart Chrome) and preview

Please also send the source files (before publish) that have problem with preview to gwd-s...@google.com so that we can debug it further.

Thanks,
Emily (GWD Team)

Thanks.

Unfortunately, that didn't do much.

However, I have a feeling that it's related to UBlock Origin. I originally installed that plugin on Firefox, but after uninstalling it, it still didn't preview. Which is odd because it seemed to have also affected Chrome. So after I uninstalled it I ran Onyx and than I was able to preview again. So it got me curious and I recreated the problem by reinstalling UBlock Origin. And BAM! Same problem again across the board. I ran Onyx again and it previewing worked again.

Strange! Needless to say, UBlock Origin is not going back on my Mac.

Thanks for all your help.

I take it back, the problem is still there. :(

I'm attaching the files and screenshots of the Developer Tools from both Chrome & Firefox. However, the problem is not just with that ad. It's with anything I try to preview. But, I also still noticed that no banners from anywhere are being shown on any browser. I have a feeling they're being blocked, but I'm not sure how since I don't have any plugins installed.

:/

Hi DJ Woody,

I can open your file in GWD and preview it in Chrome and Firefox (see the attached screenshot). So I think the problem is not from your files.

I see that from your Chrome screenshot, there is a connection error in Chrome and it seems that something is blocking the creative to load a resource file (enabler.js) from Studio site...

As a quick test to the problem, can you open Chrome in incognito mode with extensions disabled and preview your creative again? (Note that by default all extensions will be already disabled in incognito mode unless you've specifically set them to run via chrome://extensions.)

Or, you can create a plain HTML file (you can choose non-google ad for banner) and preview in Chrome. Since it will not use the Studio resource file, you should be able to see the content in preview...

If the file preview is fine in Incognito mode, can you please double check that all ad-blocking extension are uninstalled, then clear the browser cache and restart your Mac?

Please also look up information on fixing the connection error, here is one I found on how to fix on Chrome:

Hello,

I'm not that user but I had the exact same problem. I opened incognito mode and it suddenly worked. Thanks.

Hi there,

Again I had this same issue but when previewed in incognito it worked, any ideas on why this is and if there may be a fox to it as it is obviously on our end.

Thanks
