In-app expanding video template doesn't expand

to Google Web Designer beta

I opened Google Web Designer and selected New from template > In-app expanding video. I edited nothing just published to DoubleClick Studio. I went to preview and selected PUSH TO DEVICE to preview the banner in Google Creative Preview on my Android Nexus 5. I see the collapsed panel nicely centered on the device, when I tap "click to expand" the collapsed panel moves to the upper-left.

No expanding is happening here.

What am I doing wrong?
