If a document has no DoubleClick Studio association - but the corresponding ad exists in DoubleClick Studio - How can the document be published to the existing ad in DoubleClick studio? Is there a way to manually add the DoubleClick Studio association, or copy another documents DoubleClick Studio association?

Hi,

When you are setting the Publish to DoubleClick Studio options you can select the Campaign and creative name. Please the instructions listed in our Publishing to DoubleClick Studio article.

Let us know if you need anything more!

Hi Jaz. You cannot select a creative name, you can only insert a creative name for a new ad to be created in DoubleClick Studio. Entering the name of an ad that already exists in DoubleClick Studio does not work. So how can we publish to existing DoubleClick Studio ads from within GWD when the document has no DoubleClick Studio association?

Hi,

I've pinged one of our QA guru's to help investigate a bit, if you indeed cannot update/override an existing creative, we can review the use case and submit a feature request.

Hi Hernandez,

In the current build of GWD, the Publish to Studio dialog won't allow you to enter the name of a creative that already exists on Studio.

If you are creating a new banner and wanted to publish it to a creative that already exists in Studio, you can use Publish Locally and upload the zip file manually to the existing Studio ads.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Emily (GWD Team)

I know that, thanks, but is there a way to manually create the DC association so that the ad can be published directly form withing GWD?

Hi Fabian,

Yes there is a way to do that and it involves more steps and editing in Code View:

Step 1 - you need to find out the IDs for the Studio Account, Advertiser, Campaign and Creative that you want to publish the new file to.

The studio account info can be found in the meta tag in the authoring file of the creative if you download it from Studio:

Step 2 - copy the <meta> tag and paste it in your new DoubleClick file in GWD (Code View), for example:

<head>
    <meta name="gwd:studio-creative-association" content="acct=22434861;adv=32272814;camp=37972455;cr=40330009;">
    .....
<head>

Step 3 - continue adding the content in Design view. When you click Publish to Studio button, the Studio association info should show up in the dialog. (Please note that when you do this, the previous published file will be overwritten by the new file.)

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Emily
