Hi there,

I can't succeed to make a campaign pass the asset validation. My creative fails the Missing asset check in a very weird way.

The error I get is: INVALID_URL_REFERENCE: pizza.png?1234565896

Even if the pizza.png file is in the .zip file.

The numeric parameter gets added by Google Web Designer during publication, looking in the index.html file I found:

<img is="gwd-image" source="pizza.png?1234565896" id="gwd-image_3" class="gwd-img-1ixv">

Did anyone have the same issue and know how to solve it?

Thanks a lot,

Simone

Hi Simone,

Can you please open the file in Google Web Designer, select the pizza image, open the Properties panel and check to see if the source field contains ?1234565896? If it does, remove it and republish to see if it fixes the issue. If it does, save the file, reopen to see if the weird string is added back. We have not seen Google Web Designer add this seemingly random string but this is not the first time I heard of this report. If you can reproduce the issue please let us know the steps.

Thanks,
San

Hi San,

so I followed your step but I couldn't see the parameter in the properties of the image.

So I tried this: I created a new file in Google Web Designer and copy pasted there the same graphics.

That didn't solve the problem, publishing the file on Google Drive will add those weird strings.

But this time I also tried to publish the creative locally (with the same settings), and this time it passed the validation <3 and no parameter was added to the pizza.png in the index.html file.

I hope this could helps you figure out what was the problem.

Let me know if I can do anything else for you.

Thanks a lot,

Simone

Thank you so much for the steps. We are able to reproduce the issue now with Publish to Drive. We will log a bug and investigate the issue.

This issue is now fixed in Google Web Designer version 4.0.0. Publish to Drive no longer adds the extra characters to the image source.

Thank you for reporting this to us.
