Warning: This creative is not using the ExitApi. The ExitApi is required to make a select area of the creative clickable. Without the ExitApi, a click on any portion of the creative will click through to the landing page set in AdWords. If this is intended, please note your click was successful and should track correctly.

I have two buttons in my ad. One is a rollover and the other exits the ad. I used tap-area and set up an exit ad. When I test it in google adwords html5 validator, I get the above error.

Any suggestions?

If I test it in doubleclick I get zero error messages.

Hello, I would raise up this topic.

I am having the same issue, if you check your ad through: https://h5validator.appspot.com/adwords#/asset you receive the warning that you are not using an exit ad, unfortunately seems that many third parties software have started to have same behavior and to refuse accepting adwords banners realized by GWD.

Actually watching the code you find a lot of this command: gwd.actions.gwdDoubleclick.exit but not a specific exit ad for Google AdWords

Please could you check the behavior of Google Web Designer as well as the behavior of https://h5validator.appspot.com, I am concerned that Google Web Designer is not anymore a reliable software to realize Ad Web Banner.

Thanks

Hi,

We are unable to reproduce this issue. Can you post an example file that you get this error with?

Thanks,
Nivesh (GWD Team)

Yes of course, if you upload the banner into the validator the exit-api isn't recognized (https://h5validator.appspot.com/adwords#/asset?result=4824101173592064)

Your click was successful and should track correctly

Warning: This creative is not using the ExitApi. The Google-hosted ExitApi is required to make a select area of the creative clickable. Some of our agencies that use third parties as displays campaign manager instead of DFP are rejecting our creative for the same reason.

Thanks

We are also seeing the same issue with GWD files. We have set to exit not exit Override as per this article.

But when we validate in https://h5validator.appspot.com/adwords#/asset it gives the same warning as others and when we upload to Adwords although accepted the preview clicks through over the whole creative, not the tap area button.

Example file here;

GWD File here;

Let's see what are gonna say the experts, my issue is began when some agencies that do not use DFP have started to complain with my web-ads, we still have in our arsenal Adobe Animations however I prefer GWD because is mostly focused on HTML and CSS instead of the former which makes a massive use of javascript where I have less control.

Hi all,

Thanks for letting us know of the issue. We will contact the team that implements the h5validator for AdWords. Google Web Designer creatives with valid exit using our taparea and the exit events should work on AdWords so the warning is bad. Will give you an update when I have it.

Steve, we noticed your file uses a dynamic generated exit url. I will also check with the AdWords team on this to see if it's allowed.

Here's a status update. A fix has been implemented internally in the h5validator. I will let you know when it's in production.

Thanks,

Cool!

However I believe you should check it out if the same api you use to check the html is shared with the third parties allowed to handles the adwords campaign.

Thanks

The fix is now in production, https://h5validator.appspot.com/adwords#/asset. Please check it out.

Steve, I checked and yours should work also.

Daniele, the fix is in the h5validator for AdWords. We did not need to fix Google Web Designer as it's doing the exit correctly. Do the third parties use the h5validator or their own tool?

Hi,

I woud like to let you know the AdWords Validator is not working properly. If you upload more than one ads it is unable to show you the preview for each ads.

Thanks

Hi Daniele,

When you said upload more than one ads, do you mean a bundle zip with multiple ads with different sizes?
