GWD is not installing properly

Hello,

GWD tool is not installing in my sys properly(i'm not able to open GWD in my sys). wen i'm running installer it says "downloading.... installing.. and after 30 sec's it is skipping remaining installation process. But tool is showing in my start menu, wen i'm trying to open it, it is not opening ..

i'm using WIN-7 and my system requirements are matched.. and i updated my video drivers. all plugins are disabled in chrome.. and chrome is latest version.

Please help me... i'm trying from 2 days... no luck yet...

Hi Sagar,

Do you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows machine?  

If you have installed Chrome 32-bit on the 64-bit Windows, Google Web Designer won't work.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Download the Chrome 64-bit 

2. Uninstall the current Chrome and install the new Chrome

3. Launch 64-bit Chrome

4. Remove GWD cache  \Users\<username> \AppData\Local\Google\Google Web Designer\data\cache

5. Relaunch GWD

Also, please make sure that GWD is installed in the default location.

Hello,

I'm Running 64-bit chrome only, and i tried even after cleaning cache. but no luck yet,

same thing is happening again..Please help me out in this..

Can you uninstall and install GWD with the steps below?

1. Uninstall GWD

2. Remove this folder if it exists:C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Google\Google Web Designer\data\cache

(note: you need to enable “Show hidden files, folders, and drives” in Folder options View tab)

3. Go to this registry and remove the entry if it exists: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Google/Web Designer, delete Web Designer.

4. Download GWD again and install

Yes, i uninstalled and tried the above steps.

1. uninstalled GWD
2. there is no cache folder aftr uninstall
3. Web Designer folder not exist in "registry"

even i re start my SYS

again same problem "installion is not finishing well" but showing GWD tool on start menu

Hi Sagar,

Please answer a few more questions:

- Do you get any error when you are installing GWD?

- Do you have any antivirus software installed on your machine by any chance?

If so, please turn it off before installing GWD.  

- Do you see 1.3.5.0 folder and webdesigner.exe file under C:\Program Files\Google\Google Web Designer after the installation?

What is the size of the executable file?  Is it 1,457 KB?

i have made all those but still no luck..

it is saying "Incompatable Application" wen right click on icon and selecting troubleshoot compatability.. is this is a problem.. do i need to reinstall my OS.. i remember once i upgraded my OS from win-7 to higher.. one application is asked me to upgrade ur OS. so i did that.. and once i used "System Restore" for another purpose.. so is these are effecting it..

can i reinstall OS..

My Problem is solved, Some files are missed in My OS, so i installed new OS then it works fine now.. AnYway thanks for your suggestions.. have a good daY..
