I love working with GWD and am in the process of converting over my companies Flash ads to HTML5 with the help of GWD.  The problem I have come across is that 30% of our website viewers are using legacy browsers like IE8/IE9.  In those circumstances the HTML5 ads show up blank. (an example can be found here: http://www.capitalpress.biz/html5ads/49BuysItAllTest/index.html)

I host these ads using DoubleClick for Publishers SB using the following code in the 3rd party section:

<iframe src=“http://www.capitalpress.biz/html5ads/49BuysItAllTest/index.html” height=250 width=300 scrolling=no> </iframe>

Is there a way, using GWD, to create a simple image fallback if the browser does not support HTML5?

Thanks,

How about using a tool like Camtasia to capture the add as Flash or MPEG video as fallback?

We would also be glad to have such a feature in GWD. The fallback image should also be displayed in the NOSCRIPT case. Also, if the backup image can be defined from inside GWD, then that info can be used by DoubleClick Studio to automatically assign the correct image to be the backup image, which is another issue we currently have with fallbacks: See here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer&pli=1#!searchin/gwdbeta/fallback/gwdbeta/b7qP0urKnEk/oTHsnPJdCQAJ

It might not be a big thing for GWD Dev Team - but when having to deal with projects where I'm creating several banners at a time, it's a bit of a nuisance having to always create fallbacks and then having to manually update the zip files again should client require changes (sometimes more than once!). Plus doing things manually like this can sometimes leader to human errors. For the amount of time required to code this in, and the sheer amount of time you will help people save - I think it's a top priority. Adobe have this option built in already in their application. This is was requested in 2014.
