Linux Mint Rosa 17.3 Cinnamon. I'm not behind a proxy and Chrome is up to date.
When I run cat ~/.local/share/google-web-designer/logs/browser.log I get:
peter@laptop ~ $ cat ~/.local/share/google-web-designer/logs/browser.log

Any help would be great.
I did notice there is no custom app icon in the panel button, just the generic app icon.

Is the ninja I see in the logs a dependency that didn't get installed?
I installed with the terminal and got this
~$ google-webdesigner
The program 'google-webdesigner' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 659 error_code 9 request_code 72 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
i tried with sync and re-installed x11, both did not work
E0504 15:20:33 ../../../../../../../../../../google/src/cloud/jmayhew/webdesigner_beta_release_branch/branches/webdesigner_beta_release_branch/google3/googleclient/webdesigner/shell/linux/main.cc:53] X error received: type 0, serial 301, error_code 8, request_code 42, minor_code 0
So, it's a different error this time around. Still a white screen.
After downloading the updated app directly from the website, adding a dependency sqlite3 ( sudo apt-get install sqlite3 libsqlite3-dev), then re-booting.
The application finally works on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Thank-you
