It doesn't make any stop of animation on timeline. This this is simply ignoring the actions ...

Have you got the same issue?

I use this action to play banner for 30 seconds max according to DoubleClick / GDN specification.

So it's a must. And you guys from Google have ruined them, so Google Web Designer is completely useless for me.

I don't have any animation on main timeline - every element has it's own animation inside element (group), so what I did till now, I defined a loop for 3 times (every loop time was 10 seconds) and then I made pause actions inside those elements on e.g. 29 second.

And it worked fine. Every animation stopped according to pause action.

And now, after last update (I don't want those updates - overtime something is bugged!), those pause functions are completely ignored.

Can you replace your Pause action with a gotoAndPause action pointing to a label on a new page? That has been one workaround.

Hello Kent,

thank you for your answer. But ... are you serious?

Instead of making quick update which will fix this bug, you want me to rebuild all my campaign banners? There are 500+ of them, for god sake! Will Google Web Designer team pay for this?

Guys - let me choose if I want to install your updates or not. No, thank you, I don't want them.

You have blood on your hands after Flash, which worked flawlessly, and you play like boys.

People - we are here for serious business.

What should I tell my customer?!? That he should kick off his campaigns because google is playing games?

Really, I have you pretty enough!

I'm sorry you are running into this issue. I understand your frustration when your workflow is broken. It was never our intention to break user's workflow. Please give us a chance to work with you to fix it.

In your file, did you use custom code to pause? I think your workflow is that you added a timeline pause event, then probably copy the gwd.actions.timeline.pause('<elementid>'); code in code view to use in the custom action (so you can use a variable for counter for example), and delete the timeline pause event. Then you use the copied code in the custom action and it worked before in the previous build because of a bug that the orphaned CSS was not deleted when the timeline pause event was deleted in the UI. In the latest release, the bug was fixed and the orphaned CSS also got deleted and your timeline pause in the custom action no longer works because the pause CSS are no longer there. If you did not use custom action to pause, please send us your author file so we can investigate further (gwd-s...@google.com).

We have got many bug reports on unused CSS being left behind so we have tried to fix the issues that we could reproduce such as this orphaned CSS bug after pause event was deleted, unknowing that it broke some user's workflow which relied on the orphaned CSS bug. We are working on a fix for this to continue supporting the timeline pause in custom code. The workaround for now is to add a timeline pause event outside of the animation span so that the pause CSS are added for it to work. We will keep you updated on the fix for this issue and will release it as soon as it's implemented and tested.

Thank you.

We just released an update to Google Web Designer that should fix the issue with pause. You no longer need to add a pause event in the timeline UI for pause to work in custom actions.

Thank you for your patience.

It's still not working in the newest update.

Pause function inside the group (not the main timeline) is ignored.

See attached image. On timeline (inside a group) I have an event in 28th second. It's not stopping.

Please, fix it.

Hello,

I have just send mail with URL to download the files.

Animations in groups have stop function on 28 second, given like on attached screenshot above. It was working OK (all animations stopped on 28 second) till the last update of Google Web Designer.

Please, bring it back to action, because all my GDN campaigns are for disposal.

Thank you.

Same issue here.

A client just sent back an iPad running a presentation off a local web server and I am unable to update it because all the Pause commands are being ignored, and the presentation is now completely broken.

Google, don't auto-update your apps because you have now caused me to miss a critical deadline with no way to fix it and no comment to present to the client except, "We're sorry, but the software is broken and there's nothing we can do except wait for an update. Too bad about your deadlines and our promise to deliver the update within 24 hours."

I am on 2.0.2.1128

San, I am having the same issue, the day started with this problem only existing in IOS browsers, now it seems to have grown to include both chrome and safari desktop browsers as well.  To make matters more confusing, if you preview in the browser while in the software it works, but when you FTP it to get approvals it no longer works. (that is the pause/ gotopause/ gotoPlay functions do not work.)  All but IOS worked this morning, no code was changed, any reason why it would not work this afternoon?

Hi Kryinlion,

Starting in the 2.0 release, we now add the animation runtime code at publish time. Opening the author file in browser will result in animation not working correctly because of the missing animation runtime code. You must publish the file in Google Web Designer (File > Publish) in order to have the animation runtime code added correctly, then use that published file to upload it to your client .

If you are sending the publish file and still the pause function is not working then please share the author file with us? Open the file in Google Web Designer, select File > Save as zip...upload it to Drive and share the url with us either here or to gwd-s...@google.com.

Thanks

Hello Sukhbir,

I tried using the Publish option, but unfortunately the pause command still does not work for me.

I am now emailing the zip file as requested.

Please note that in the email I just sent, I have renamed the .js files in the zip file to .jsRENAME since the attachment was being blocked by Gmail. Rename them back to .js after unzipping.

That worked for the desktop browsers, but still fails for IOS. I have sent you a copy of the file to the GWDsupport email. Please let me know if there is a fix for IOS or a work around. I am of course on a deadline...seems to be the way of things. lol.

cheers

Seeing the same issue here.

I've made a test file:

The top box is a group and should pause 1 second in.

I've also added a rollover to jump the group back to a label. It jumps it but ignores the pause.

Hi Craig,

Thank you for the files. We are aware of this issue where pause CSS not being generated for an element when it should be. In this case, it happens when the group has an id.  To workaround the issue, please add a pause event for the group in the main timeline (must do it for every group) or you can use custom action to pause the groups. We are working on a fix and will provide an update for it as soon as we can.

For you test file add an event at the end in main timeline  : page1>event-5>pause>group1

I hope this helps!

Thanks

Sukhbir
