I think would be very good to have a standalone installation...
In my case, the proxy on my job's network messes with the download from the file we actually use from the GWD website, and the only 100% sure way to solve that would be using an offline/standalone installation, carying the full program within it.
The other way to solve im my opinion is installing the GWD in another PC out of the network and copying the folder from that PC to the one on my job, the thing is: It's never a clever thing to "install" programs by copying the folder. You copy and paste the folder but the program may lose register entries and a lot of other stuff that wasn't in the main folder.

Jaz,

Thanks for the attention, I solved my problem talking with the IT guys for administrator permissions(hard times, but solved).
A custom server would do a great job for solving this also, but what is actually the problem behind making an offline installer? As a comparison, Google Chrome has an offline installer.
My problem was solved, but I think lots of people are asking themselves this same question I am doing.

And thanks again for the hard work (what I am certain you guys do)

Hi Alexandre,

An offline installer is a great suggestion and one we'll discuss together as a team. As soon as we have more info, I'll be sure to update the forum with details!

Thanks again for supporting our tool, we really do read every comment and consider every suggestion!

thx!!

even if for hysterical raisins they don't want to have an "outdated" version running about they could update every 2 weeks (or after a massive exploit bug fix) and still have a useable download.

btw is there some sort of control panel that i can DISABLE the google updater unless i run it myself??

can't you guys put the gwd '.exe' in a drive folder and share it for now... 'cause i need GDW asap, but my office proxy doesn't allow the connection. Would be a great help.

+1 Please make off-line installers.
Why? Allow people to share software (free software at least), and reduce cost of bandwidth to users.
