hide/show or toggle elements on click

I'm trying to hide/show elements when clicked.  So on initial load one element will be displayed.  Once another element is clicked, the one showing should hide and only display the one that was just clicked.  I'm newer to GWD and jQuery and understand an event needs to be involved, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around the exact way to do this for multiple ids.  Thanks in advanced for any guidance on this.
