In the files section of the Google group, you'll find a new file called FeatureSetSurveyResults.doc. I bet you can guess what it contains! We had 40 respondents, which is pretty darn good, considering.

I figured we could use a thread for discussion before the meeting, so here it is.

For my part, I think we don't really need to edit the design doc as all the features weighted heavily and the suggested features from the comments are the more granular sorts of details we'll need at a late date.

Thanks again for facilitating this, Corvus.

I agree we don't need to edit the design doc based on the results
(yet). There's some good comments in there, though; features (like
being able to import from Excel) we'll want to be sure are made
explicit later on.

It's good to know we're on the right track, since most of the features
were rated at least "Somewhat Important." Nothing we need to throw
out or reconsider at this stage.

Perhaps the next survey should ask people to vote for their "top
three" most essential features, so we can get an idea of what a bare
bones writing package would contain?

Defiantly, thanks to you both! 40 people is alright to start! I don't think we have to worry about narrowing the list, there is very little overlap. Celtx can help decide scope, since it will mostly involve their resources.

I look forward to the meeting,

Stephen
