I'm pretty sure we'll be there and we can bring a salad to go with our pasta.
Prayer Request/Update:
So, they sent my dad home again from the hospital after almost a week stay and he is still getting sick. This is the exact same thing that happened in December. I rarely have "real" conversations with my parents where they are completely open with me and I think this is the case here as well. I know the basics - my dad's blood pressure drops drastically, he is very unsteady on his feet and he gets sick to his stomach. I've been doing my own research (aka internet...only truth there, right?) and discovered what kind of problems/symptoms patients can have while on long term dialysis. And I also looked into how long patients live with the kind of dialysis my dad is on and while some can obviously outlive the standards, the average is around 5 years....my dad is almost at the 5 year mark. The symptoms he is having could be a result of the dialysis not doing its job as well anymore. I'm trying to be realistic in my thinking and I hope that you will pray for me to have the right words to speak to my parents, let them be open to talking to me or to decide not to say anything at all and let my parents talk to me if/when they are ready.
Also, this Saturday, Clint and I, along with his sisters and their husbands will be cleaning out Melanie's house and deciding what to do with all her personal belongings. We know that this will be a challenging day and ask for prayers of comfort and strength.
Thank you all for your support and love!! We have a great group of friends.
