Hello,
I have been using the Lidr package in R to add an additional attribute to my pointcloud based on a raster image (using the merge_spatial function). When I check the file in R i see it has this additional attribute added to the file. However, if I try to open the modified .las file in Lidar360 it does not show the new attribute I have added.

Is there any specific requirements for a new attribute for it to be read properly in Lidar360?

Hello Sir,

In LiDAR360, to read additional attributes from a LAS point cloud file, these attributes must be written according to the LAS standard using the Extra Bytes structure. Otherwise, the software may not be able to recognize them.

Regarding your mention of "R" — are you referring to the R programming language? Please note that LiDAR360 only supports reading attributes from standard data formats. Any custom attributes must be written into the standard attribute fields; otherwise, they cannot be read by the software.

Best regards,

Hello, yes the attributes are written according to the LAS standard as extrabytes. I have been able to open the file in CloudCompare, which shows the custom attribute, but if I load the data in Lidar360 the new attribute isn't visible. See the discussion here on StackExchange:

Hello,

Thank you for the explanation. If possible, could you please send us the point cloud file with the custom additional attributes via email or another method? This would help us better analyze the issue and identify the cause. Thank you!

Best regards
