Dear and Noble Sangha,

Below is Linda's request for Hospitality House, the first one of the year! Click on the link to join up; you can call Linda or myself  if we need to pick anything up if you can't make it. :) Don't forget there is no sit this Sunday, BUT next Sunday we are having a special guest, Geshe Phelgye, a global scholar at Gonzaga University in Washington. He is coming to speak with us about Basic Goodness and answer any questions. He is the founder of the Universal Compassion Foundation and a longtime friend of Shambhala.

Happy New Year!  Our first opportunity to serve at Hospitality House this new year is this coming Tuesday, January 3, 2012!

Thank you for your generosity in 2011, now on to 2012! Just to give you an idea . . . last year (2010) Hospitality House served 342 different individuals, provided 8,679 bed nights and served over 27,000 meals to our homeless guests. Thank you for all your contributions.

We are ringing in the new year with a new theme...Oriental Extravaganza! Many dishes may be new to you but let me assure you that there are thousands of recipes on the Internet.  Choose one that is listed, add your own or stop by one of our local Asian restaurants and grab a large to go order to donate! Please sign up by clicking here: Hospitality House signup sheet  (It will save automatically when you close the browser window).

When: Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012
Where: Sierra Pines Methodist Church, 22559 West Hacienda, Grass Valley
What: Bring part of dinner and serve it or drop it off by 5:30

As always, I am happy to meet you or pick up your food donations ahead of time if you are unable to get it to the church by 5:30 on January 3.

Please call with any questions! And... please mark your calendar with these future dates: February 14, March 6, April 24

Gratefully,
Linda Katz
