500S centre stand return spring

I have finally gotten around to installing the correct centre stand on my '37 500S. There is a an eye welded to the right leg of the stand for attaching the lower part of the return spring. The question is: where does the upper end of the spring attach? It looks like the centre of the kick start shaft is in the right location. Is there some sort of plate or wire loop for attaching the upper part of the spring?

I found Part No.08041 Molla doppia richiamo cavalletto porlatelaio  (Double Frame Stand Return Spring) in the parts catalog, but I cannot find any thing for attaching the upper part of the spring. Any and all advice gratefully recieved.
