As I recall, the Lodola has a 6v negative earth dc generator. I would think that the electronic regulator such as this:
should work on your Lodola.

If you want to use a mechanical regulator, a tractor regulator like this should work:

tympanium and wassell make those small regulators too. I have a 6v neg. tympanium modern electronic regulator on one of my Norton singles. They make 12v ones to.

Hi All,
To be able to use the commonly available regulators, you need to 're wire the dynamo field connections to the "Lucas"  system rather than the Marelli /Bosch  system. This is just to 're connect the field wire going to the regulator to ground and move  the other field wire from the pos brush to the reg field connection.. I'm away at the minute and don't recall the dynamo numbers. I would recommend the DVR2 (N) for negative earth it has 6 and 12 volt options

I would like to fit a new regulator, the lamp at the top of the headlight on my Falcone no longer comes on whether the bike is running  or not and regardless of the key position.  Of course I should check the bulb first I suppose.

Anyone got a diagram on how to wire? Or does the regulator come with instructions?  Is it possible to mix up the wiring and cause more problems than you started with?

Regards
Patrick

the dynamo numbers would be excellent for me.

This might help with the dyno numbers.

Wiring to regulators from a dynamo is standard. You'll find it on the web.

Hi Frank, the table linked is not much for the Lodola,  the dynamo numbers are 51 and 61
When you take off the dynamo end cover, one internal wire goes to one of the brushes, this translates to D or D+ going to the regulator.  Once you change around the field connections the field wire that was connected to the + brush should be connected to the  other outgoing  terminal that will be F or DF on the regulator.
I am still away on the Irish National Rally until after the weekend so unable to be more consise with numbers and such

Thanks for this diagram Paul. I'm filing it away. Probably forget that I have it if needed but hey, I'll have it!
