The
1938 Galbusera V8 Two-Stroke is arguably one of the most audacious and
technically ambitious motorcycles ever conceived, representing a
spectacular but ultimately non-production
example of pre-war Italian engineering audacity. Developed by Italian
engineer Lodovico Galbusera, this machine featured an incredibly complex
and unique 498cc V8 two-stroke engine. The bike was an experimental
marvel, utilizing eight tiny cylinders mounted in a V-configuration,
designed to achieve maximum performance and smoothness. Though it was
likely too complex and expensive for mass production, the Galbusera V8
remains a legendary piece of motorcycling history, celebrated for its
pioneering spirit, extreme rarity, and its unparalleled status as the
world's only known V8 two-stroke motorcycle.
