Hi all,
My Falcone Turismo is running really weak. It needs near full choke all the time to run more or less properly.
The slide is really loose in the carb body.
Does anybody have a decent slide for me or an address?
Or a complete carb?
I don't want to follow the Jikov route for the moment
Or use a VHB for that matter.
Thanks
Paul

Have you checked the usual suppliers? Checked ebay? I don't think I go with a used one unless nothing else is available. Any leakage will mean a lean condition and hard starting.

I haven't searched usual suppliers yet. In fact, I haven't dismantled the carb yet, too busy with other bike projects. A finger down the carb throat shows that the slide is really loose. Carb body could be well worn as well.

Valenti used to rebore and fit a +1mm slide. Maybe Guzzi Retro do it now? I think I may have a pretty good standard slide if you are really stuck. I'm in England

Thanks. There were people boring and sleeving carbs in the UK and in Germany.  I need to check out my options.

I’ve had pretty good luck with Eurocarb in the UK. It hurts a bit to pave postage to the US for just a few jets or small parts. But if you need it……. They make some of their own replacement parts too.

I've had a lot of PH and VH stuff from Eurocarb
I don't think they have what I'm after.
I'll check Dell'Orto France as well.

Hi I’m not at all convinced about the slide issue, a cure on BSAs. My  Tourismo the throttle stop screw fell out the bike ran perfectly but would not tick over, obviously . On examination the slide has a keyway both sides one with a peg that’s a very poor fit the other completely open, the cable no seal at all, so how is this remotely airtight ?  I would look at the flange mine was bent and a thread gone. Also the float level the needle is adjustable but on mine the jet has a nut on the inside so perhaps the height of this can be altered ? I had mine in a vice with fuel and with a vernier leg could measure the level. It’s much higher than I thought can’t remember the dimension.

I would also look at the whole fuel path through the carb.
