Finally got my kickstart shaft replaced. I had sheared it a few years back . Then when i got the new one from Marco it had to be riveted and machined before installation. I've been able to bump start it the few times I've wanted to run it.
Now its time to adjust the valve clearances as I also replaced the old homemade external pushrod.
Anyone know the procedure for an Exhaust over Intake 500 single? I do have the manual but only in original Italian, and it's really for an older Sport14.
Also planning to replace all cables and build a new wiring harness. Materials purchased from Marco. HE also sent me a thumb operated throttle to replace the twist throttle a previous owner installed. Not sure I'm keen on the thumb operator as it's it's complex enough to ride with hand shift, manual advance etc.

The logic shouldn't change much in that period. If you type out the
instructions in a mail message I'll do a translation for you. You
could just scan the manual pages but then I'd have to type it all in
Italian before translation. That is the tedious busy work part.

There are several native Italian speakers in the 'singles' group so we
can verify translation accuracy.

Chris, don’t be afraid of the replacement throttle. I’ve got several bikes that way. Riding one of these means you’re not in a hurry…. As you approach a stop, back the throttle down and get the shifting done as you coast to a stop. You’ll develop a feel for it, not a big deal at all

Turns out I have an original bound copy of the maintenance manual as well as a photocopied copy. They are for GT17 and apply to everything up to that as well. My Parts manual is for the 14.
I can scan in the photocopied version and have the computer ( Confuser) do a translation. I will then forward to Patrick
I was able to figure out that valve clearance is 0.20mm at TDC.

Hi CC,

Not exactly an answer but perhaps helpful... I recently downloaded Apple
Translate to my smart phone. With it, you can take a picture of a page
of text and it will translate it from Italian into English (or any
number of languages). It's free and works pretty well as long as you're
in cell range. Might make that Sport14 manual a bit more helpful.

Good luck with the renovation!

I believe you’ll get used to a hand throttle. You can snap it shut in an instant if you need to - and it has the nice quality of staying where you put it so you can set your cruising speed.
