The Moto Guzzi Bicilindricra (sic) had a leading link fork.

That looks like the fork in the first photo I uploaded. It has the damper and spring within the tubing of the fork leg.
I appologize too for the horrible quality of photos I put up. They were quick snap shots of the photos in the Columbo book and poorly lit.
The following 2 pics I put up were of the 8 cyl. The dampers were ahead of the fork leg and they also had the lightening/inspection hole in the triangular bracket.
