Motoguzzi 500 Engine

Hello all,

I would like to enlist the help of anyone who may be able to identify this engine.
I have attached two images, one of which shows the engine number and the other of the full engine.
Thank you in advance to anyone that may have some information about this.

Looks like the engine for an Astorino. That's the post-war iron head/open valve 250cc model that preceded the Airone. (but I could be wrong)
The intake tract and the muffler that are shown do not go with this engine.

It looks like an early pre 50's 500 before the Falcone, I am sure some one will know exactly.

It's pretty close looking to my GTV engine. The plumbing is different, oil line to the rocker box comes from the bottom of the crankcase on mine and your intake manifold/carb is not going to work like that. My GTV has the dual exhaust but we can't see the other side of yours. Here's the best photo I have showing that side of the engine.

Thanks for your feedback. I got this with a rolling chassis which was advertised as being from a 500 but turned out to be from a PE 250 and is too big to fit the frame! I need to find a way of achieving at least one complete bike .

As I understand it, that engine was used with changes in compression and carburation through a few models of the time. There was at least the GTV, GTW and GT17 in that era. There was a dual port and single port exhaust but that didn't seem to depend on any performance level.
