A few questions: 1, Can anybody tell me please what the threads used on Dellorto carbs are, particularly the MD27F some of the hex heads don't really seem to be metric (or any British sizes that I've tried) did they use odd sizes? 2, There is a hex head on top of the slide above the needle. Should it unscrew to release the needle? It's hellish tight and i'm frightened of damaging the slide trying to move it. 3, The needle jet female thread for main jet is stripped. Is there a source of supply for these or does anyone have one they would like to  sell? I guess its common with other dellortos. Any help appreciated as always, thanks.

The MC26 on my GTV has that hex dome over the needle.  Uses a 9mm socket.  If very tight you might try penetrating oil then heat the slide.  Any expansion should help.

The needle jet is available from Valenti (though the one he sent is slightly larger than the 270 I took out).  The MC/MD series carbs have a 5mm main jet, but the SS1 series carbs have a 6mm main jet.  The threads for the 6mm may be larger (can't remember) so might be possible to tap it out to a larger size.

What is the number on your needle jet?

I have a MD27 F Carb that I sourced in Italy a couple of Years ago for a friend here in the US, that unfortunately passed away before I could deliver it. It is for sale.

What do you want for it? Where are you located?

Has anyone installed a Mikuni VM28 on a Guzzi and made it run?  It seems like the perfect "modern" replacement.  Are there other carbs that would work on a 500 single?

I put a VHB29 from an Ambassador on a customer's Falcone and it worked perfectly with no rejetting necessary. If you wanted something smaller, perhaps a VHB27 from an H-D/Aermacchi Sprint.

I just did the same thing to my Falcone, found a NOS VHB27 from a Harley Sprint. I did need to have a plastic sleeve made to fit the Falcone manifold. I believe Patrick Hayes mentioned his later Falcone has a VHB26 as stock.
