It is multicellular. Said to be used by helicopter pilots. The trick is to deflate them a lot, like an airbed so they are supportive but not wobbly. Then I pulled out the Airhawk, stowed in inside my jacket and could do some more miles in relative comfort before reaching the pain threshold again.
