My mother who was always very active used to say ‘it’s hell getting old’ and I didn’t really get it - till now!

My feeling about bikes is to keep going as long as my anticipation, reactions, situational awareness. vision and roadcraft feel intact, and as long as I don’t frighten myself or cause others to hit the horn!!  (too often !!). I try to work on those skills every time I go out. Bikes have given me my best fun for 55+ years and  I hope to keep enjoying them a bit longer.  Now I get most fum on my 250 Airone, my 65 ccs Guzzino and my BMW 500 from 1956.  All low centre of gravity, low weight and encourage gentlemanly riding. I’d even consider an e-start baby Honda !

And of course choose the back roads - I just want to feel the wind in my face and see nice scenery going by.  Don’t care about speed anymore but hope to be quick enough not to be in the way with cars that are desperate to squeeze by. The other week I did a 10 mile country back road circuit  with a pal on my baby Guzzino and his 150 ccs Triumph Terrier. Such fun that we swapped bikes and did it again. It’s a lot about the roads you choose -  though that can be hard in south east UK.

Who said 'Keep on keeping on'?

Sorry to hear this Chris. I didn't want to look like I was prying so I didn't ask. My eldest cousin had Parkinson's. She fought for over 25 years, was able to see her grandchild.
I deal with vertigo, less serious but understand the balance thing. I also have some heart issues. No more big tall bikes that I can't get my feet on the ground with. Dirt bike days are coming to an end, even the vintage bikes. I just love motorcycles though. My doctor shakes her head but I just tell her I'm "thriving".

Not for the time being. It's mainly a balance issue due to Parkinsons.
Figure i can handle the sidecar rig and the mopeds.

Chris,

Does this apply to the sidecar too?

Looks like my 1932 Sport 15 will be available. Pictures are fairly current. Had this machine at MGNOC National rallies in New Hampshire and Oregon.
Asking $12500

Also my 74 police model, disk brake Eldorado ($6000). 1993 SPIII high mileage ($2500).
