Any of you guys got any tips on getting the selector quadrant in the correct position when assembling. I have assembled the casings on a trial basis and tested the gear changes before final sealing and I am having trouble selecting 4th gear. I can get 1st 2nd and 3rd but can’t shift into 4th. Is there a correct starting position? I have not disturbed any of the gears, only the quadrant lifted when I split the cases and I am not sure where to engage it to start with.

Can’t find anything in the manuals I have.

Any tips appreciated.

i did an English translation and photo essay on how to do it. I can forward report but busy now with house sale. I think Gordon in UK may have copy and could forward.

also make sure gears are turning when you test shifting. Guzzi don't like shifting when gears are stationary. Might need three hands.

You must pay attention to the alignment marks on the inside of the gearbox casting. It usually takes me two or three tries before I get it right. Trial and error with a good dose of persistence will put things right.
