Did anyone from the group buy this yesterday?  It looks like it went for $5K Buy it Now.  Seems like a really good deal for a bike that is so complete. I would have been very tempted if I had noticed it before it was sold.  I'm surprised the seller chose to list it a Buy it Now for that price.  It seems like it would have gone higher as an auction.

Guilty.

It popped up in my daily ebay search email alert. I figured it was hard to pass up a 500 at that price. I thought about it for about 15 minutes and hit the buy it now. Then I noticed an email to this list about it. I don't think it would have lasted to long after being posted here.

It didn’t last long after the posting here. By the time I went there it was sold. Too bad, I would have bought it for sure.

I was the one who posted it to the group.  Seemed too good to be true.  Asked one question of the seller (unanswered) and it was gone.

I would have hit the button but no title is now an issue in MI and at that price it seems there is a possible problem/issue beyond the obvious.  I hope it works out well for you though!

I’m Japanese but I went from yellow to green! LOL

Congrats, I’m really envious.

Over the weekend I did a half hearted bid for a Morini 250 v-twin and lost of course.

Then tried more seriously for a MV 175CS but I missed that too. I don’t think my pockets are deep enough right now to have won that one though.

Kevin, if you develop any buyers remorse let me know. I’ll make you feel all better. J)

Yes a bit of a gamble as far as what may be lurking inside. It has spark and compression so it can't be all that bad. Give me a couple of weeks and I should be able to give a bit of an update.

How about setting-up a pecking order for bikes as they become available (on eBay or otherwise)...either a lottery or a waiting list of all those wanting their first bike?
Of course it would be a little tough to agree on which method to use and administer but would avoid long faces!
All the best,

Phil

I don't need no steenkin lottery.  If I see one I like I am going to bid or buy it.

Yeah, when these things come up on public auction you can’t really do anything but bid. Courtesy would suggest that if someone says they’re bidding on something others would hang back but when the final gavel drops, the guy that wants something had better bid like he’s serious. The GTV had a “Buy it now” and I feel if someone points it out without saying “I’m buying this” it’s open game. Even if he says he’s going to buy it he’d best BIN right after posting. Better yet would be to buy it and then make everyone envious.

Pecking order is by budget and I even admit I’m towards the bottom of that.

Well I hope I didn't ruffle any feathers here. I know it was posted here but that isn't were I found out about it. I am sure most of us have ebay set to alert you when new items come up for specific search terms. I was sitting at the computer when it came in and I only thought about it for a couple of minutes because I knew someone would pounce on it if I didn't. I know it may seem greedy that I am going to have 2 Guzzi singles now (well actually 3 with the Stornello) but if its any consolation they will have a good home! I know there are quite a few of you out there that have more than one.....

Yup! I just wish I had seen it in time. One of those rare times when my desires and my pocketbook were in common territory.

Next time Drew, send it to me personally. LOL

I'm pretty sure the seller is on this forum. Maybe next time he gets a
single he'll advertise it here first. When my 1935 GTV project is ready
to sell, I'll let you guys know. But it won't be cheap, probably around
$25K, maybe less depending on the market.
