Emily Banks in NC is seeking a valve cover gasket or complete gasket set for her Falcone and all of the "usual suspects" seem to be out of stock. Anyone know where she might get said gasket? I thought about Dave Jackson, but have lost my contact info. for him. Any help will be appreciated!

I probably have a few. Let me dig the stash. Just one VC gasket?

Yes - that's all she asked me for anyway.

Charlie: the Falcone has two different VC gaskets. See here:

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t61/pehayes/falconeblue/MVC-733X.jpg

The slightly smaller one is beige, thinner cardstock.
The slightly larger one is gray, thicker gasket stock.

I can't match them to the book numbers or to my bike without taking mine
off. NOT.

By looking at my bike, it appears the larger, thicker, gray gasket is
for the lower or exhaust rocker cover. That one is clearly darker and
thicker on my bike. Others may comment.

So, Emily needs to look at this picture and determine which gasket she
needs. I have several of each. I need an e-mail or postal for direct
contact.

Mine are the same - darker thicker dark grey on the lower cylinder;
lighter colored one on top.

Is MGCycle included in "usual"? I haven't used them for singles parts
in the past, but they do seem to have a growing and diverse inventory of
singles based parts. I don't see this gasket listed there, but it
wouldn't hurt to ask.

Yes, MG Cycle has a complete gasket kit for ~ $23, but are out of stock unfortunately. She's already checked with Moto Guzzino and Harpers, plans to call Joe Eish as well.

Emily is supposed to drop me an email later today - I'll put her in direct contact with you if that's okay.

After a winter from hell, I am finally getting to doing some work on the Airone. I have found that the fork cap is nearly stripped. Is there anyone making new ones or selling used ones?
The tube itself looks to be good, and I could probably get the threads on the cap redone. Does anyone know what the thread size is? It looks to be somewhere in the range of 40-42 mm.
Thanks
Deno

Deno:  virtually every piece of the Falcone/Airone is re-manufactured in the cottage industry of Italy.  Consider some of the vendors on my website at:

http://home.comcast.net/~superalce

The problems are always language and shipping costs.  There are several in this group who can help you with language communication.  Most of the vendors now do e-mail and work in English as necessary (unfortunately not some of the best).

Deno,

I think I may still have a good used pair of these, it may take me a few days to find them though.  Bill Ross  Escondido, Ca.

If you can dig them up I would be interest in purchasing them. If no luck I will pursue the Italian vendor route.
I am moving to a bit more rural area than I am in now and can't wait to introduce the locals to the world of old single cylinder bikes.

Hi Steve
Not east but a bit north to Bethel. I know for you easterner that may still seem like NYC but coming from Fairfield it is like moving to Montana.
More land. Bigger garage and the house is 260 years old.

It certainly could be once you travel a few miles north. We are planning on moving up there in early summer.

Deno,  spent about an hour today looking thru boxes and clutter and could not find the fork caps.  I`m pretty sure I have a set, but cant locate them as yet.  I`ll keep looking, but probably best to keep some other feelers out there.  Regards,  Bill
