Surely you are aware that the lock ring is reverse or left-hand
threaded. It serves as a lock for the center bolt as well as an
automatic puller for the flywheel. The center bolt is normal threaded.
Mark the lock ring before loosening and then loosen it only about
3/4th of a turn. Now go at the center bolt to pull the flywheel.
You won't get anywhere with pin spanners and such. Shock and impact are
far more important than torque. You need an air gun and the proper pin
wrench. I have both and you're not that many miles away. My Falcone
flywheel is off while I await clutch discs. No problem for me to swing
over for a visit and pull your flywheel. You'd then have loose parts in
hand so that you can fabricate your own tool.
You should use a holding plate to clamp the clutch side cover before
removing the perimeter screws. I have that plate and you can copy it.
You'll need a hand impact driver as one or more of the perimeter screws
will be very tight.
I think you have my personal e-address to set up an appointment. In 10
days I go to Glacier National Park.
