In earlier versions, I setup smplayer to remember window size and position on screen.. I used to then open videos.. double click to full screen and when the video is finished/or even during video playback, double click again to return smplayer to exact position and size. This behavior is changed in new version. If video is playing, double clicking in fullscreen resizes player to maximized window. If video is paused, only then exiting full screen reverts back to players previous position and size. This might sound confusing but try doing what I mentioned. How to get previous resizing behavior back? New options like center window in interface options etc have no effect.

Hi. I was able to get smpayer working in Fossa. Simply uninstalled the version I had and donwloaded one of your pets and, since the dependencies were already there it worked fine.
Now, in Xenial I cannot just uninstall the default (non working) smplayer package and then install one of yours because it forces me to uninstall the dependencies first (see image), so I'm not too sure what to do here.
Now, in some of your packages you put "INSTALL VIA PPM". What do you mean? is there an option to install a downloaded package with puppy package manager so that it takes care of dependencies, or something like that? I don't seem to see anything like that. Would you explain? Thank you

Xenialpup deinstallation of an old smplayer version.
1st question: is smplayer the only one or are other qt5 applications installed too ?
in case that smplayer only one, I would deinstall the outdated qt5.5.1 packages too and install a statically smplayer version.

So I updated back to 5.15.3, however when I did that audacious simply had the same error as smplayer did originally, also obs has the same issue. It doesn't work on either the 5.15.2 or the 5.15.3 pkgs so I guess this is just something I'm going and have to wait to be fixed. I saw some persons on an artix forum having a similar issue as well.

The current portable version of SMPlayer (SMPlayer v0.6.9) is portable except for writing to the registry the key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Trolltech] and several keys underneath it.

This can be fixed by removing the folder "imageformats" and the contained file "qjpeg4.dll". According to this web page ( -121229-p-3.html, qjpeg4.dll allows smplayer to read/write jpeg files (currently only used for the video preview option) and that it should work without it, using png files instead.

Though I have no idea how to invoke the video preview option to test it, I was able to verify that SMPlayer does work fine without folder "imageformats" and its contents, and is "stealth" while doing so.

According to , qjpeg4.dll was removed from offical SMPlayer package. I can verify that it was not present in SMPlayer Portable v0.6.8. Unsure why it reappeared in v0.6.9

to make a diference betwen smplayer and bsplayer or VLC do this: download a movie(camera capture) and open it in bsplayer or VLC and smplayer in the same time...you will see the diference...image quality in smplayer is better...

One more thing about smplayer portability. This affects smplayer users who use SSA/ASS library Option. If you choose this option, smplayer will create a folder named "fontconfig" in "documents and settings\your user name". so you might want to go ahead and delete that folder if you don't want to leave any files behind.

I start used frm ver0.5.61, all work nice for me
but when I update to the new version 0.5.62
there and error message come out, mention something
cannot be read from the file.
I compare back the latest with previous and manage to
get back the smplayers by copy the Qt**.dll from the 0.5.61ver into the latest ver0.5.62 then become OK back
I suppose the problem is within the Qt**.dll file, Dont know how to fix its, for me it the best Mplayer that I can bring with my thumbdrive. If the developer read this
can U guyz improve the audio side by include the audio equalizer for audio ouput fine tunning.
well great product to have it
One more thing the old version is more less memory then latest but U cannot feel the diffrent - for me

INSTALLATION
Windows
Download SMPlayer from the project site and install it in the usual manner. Multiple packages are available; for most people, the webdl package is most appropriate. Once installed, I set the hidden attribute on the %systemdrive%\Users\USER\.smplayer\ directory.
