Om Namo Narayanaya:
Dear bhakthas,
Srimad Bhagavatha Sathram is a sincere re-enactment of the Bhagavatha Sathra, held at the instance of the sages headed by Sounaka Maharshi, in Naimishaaranya, at the onset of Kaliyuga, more than five thousand years ago.
The Sathra was a clear indication to the succeeding generations, that the way of moksha, in Kaliyuga, is through chanting the name of the Lord, singing out His glory and listening to the stories about His avatars, grace, and blessings.

Knowing this fact, a group of people with an inclination to spirituality, in Central Kerala, ventured at a one-year long Namajapayajna, the valediction of which was crowned with a Bhagavatha Sathra at Kurichithanam. The success of this Sathra, caused the conduct of Srimad Bhagavatha Sathram every year.
The venue was changed every year so as to spread the message of the Srimad Bhagavatha in the entire land strip of Kerala.  By the 8th  Sathra, the Akhila Bharatha Srimad Bhagavatha Sathra Samithi took shape and got registered. Since then the annual Bhagavatha Sathrams are being conducted at different venues under the aegis of the Samithi through a broad based local committee formed for the purpose.

The 26th Bhagavatha sathram is planned to be held as a ten day event from the 10th to the 18th of October 2008 at the Vadakkunnathan temple ground, Thrissur. It includes many enlightening episodes like Bhagavatha Acharya sangamam, Vedopasana, Bhagavatha parayanam, speeches, Narayaneeya parayanam, Gita parayanam, Namajapam, Sahasranama archana, Rasaleela nrittam of Lord Krishna’s Vrindavanam, Namaghosham, Krishnanattam,  Sapta Nadee snaanam, Govardhana Pooja, Gopooja etc between 4am and 10pm on all these ten days.  Annadanam to the devotees is another feature of the Yajna.

The Nirvahana Samithi solicits the co-operation and patronage from all devotees and those who like to foster the Indian heritage for the successful conduct of this big budget national event.
