Hello Neelamji/Milindji
I need help from the creative committee with the upcoming Gurukul Cultural day! My class is enacting a play about 6 blind men and the elephant.
I am wondering if creative committee can come up with ideas to make the elephant. Even better, if they can take this as a project and run with it.
Can you please fwd my email to the group, to see what they think?
Thanks
Veena
Hi Veena,
Are you envisioning one kid to play the part of the elephant wearing an elephant costume ( grey pant, gray full sleeve shirt, with an elephant face that we can make with big ears and trunk)..
or
would you like to have a really big elephant cut out/costume that involves two or three kids together?

Neelamji,
Sorry, have been under the weather again!!
As for the hall decorations, I guess there are so many possibilities.. Time and budget of course will be our constraints :)
I liked your idea of decorating the walls with alphabets from the languages taught at Gurukul. Are we decorating just the one wall behind the performance area ? I think there are windows on other two walls on the sides, right?
The word 'Gurukul' made with pictures of the kids will be a nice backdrop on the wall behind the performance area. We can add a Gurukul logo ( if we have one) or the temple logo to it..
I am thinking having a screen like cloth in the background and pinning our 'Gurukul' pictures on it will give it stage like effect. We can also make cut outs of books and lamps to go with the knowledge/enlightment theme..
Are there any decorative lighting / chair covers etc that the temple already owns that we might be able to use for this occassion ?
I think it will be nice if the team gets together at the temple this weekend so we can visualize better and come up with more ideas.
