Happy Saturday Afternoon to You!

I am wirting to you regarding the new website that Kaviji is working on for Gurukul. Some of you have received this email twice. It is because I wanted to make sure you won't be missed out.

The reason behind creating the website were numerous. It is still a work in progress where the help of co-ordinators and teachers is highly needed in order for it to succeed.

Some of the reasons were:

1. Have our own website where teachers can have their weekly plans outlined. They can either do it 1 - 2 weeks in advance. That way, if a student was absent, the parent can go online and see what was taught that week. Or if a parent is working with his / her child and wants to know what the teacher will teach next week, they can do so by looking online and thereby help the kid prepare for it.
2. If a substitute teacher is asked to cover for a class he / she can see what to do and what has been done by looking into the website. The language co-ordinator can provide the ifo to the substitute.
3. the teaching ides that have been created and are being used by teachers, shall be uploaded on this website so that parents, students or teachers can all avail it by looking online.
4. Homework can be assigned online. Even summer work can be assigned.
5. We can eventually have some games or online exercises for the kids to practice at home.
6. If a teacher has created some useful teaching resource for her class she can upload it herself so her students can access it at home.
7. The teachers shall have their own login names and privileges and so will the parents.

The possibilities are endless. Your inputs / suggestions and help is needed to make it work. Kaviji has been working on it independently. If you want to help out please reach out to him. His email is kavia...@yahoo.com.
