Hi Swathi J

I will take any idea you guys can come up with.  The blind will have to touch and feel the elephant and say what they think it is!  I have been asking the kids to imagine our class wall to be the elephant when we practice.

If needed, I can switch some of the kids (who are passer-bys or on-lookers) to be the elephant. That should not be a problem.

I am attaching a copy of the story. Take a look. That might help you come up with ideas.

Thank you all so much!!!

Hi Veena,

Are you envisioning one kid to play the part of the elephant wearing an elephant costume ( grey pant, gray full sleeve shirt, with an elephant face that we can make with big ears and trunk)..

or

would you like to have a really big elephant cut out/costume that involves two or three kids together?

Swathi

Subject: Creative Help!

Hello Neelamji/Milindji

I need help from the creative committee with the upcoming Gurukul Cultural day!  My class is enacting a play about 6 blind men and the elephant.

I am wondering if creative committee can come up with ideas to make the elephant.  Even better, if they can take this as a project and run with it.

Can you please fwd my email to the group, to see what they think?

Thanks

Veena

Hi Everyone,

My suggesstion is to keep two kids standing on their knees facing opposite directions. One kid's hands appears as trunk, another kid's hands appears as tail. They can be covered with a gray cloth/bedsheet.The only problem I see doing this way is their legs won't appear as pillars. However if we are making a mask for tusks we can cut out a small sword like shape from a card board and cover it with a white paper.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
