Hello,

I am working with a MILP problem which is formulated in Excel and can be solved using the Excel Solver Add-in. The size of the problems this solver can handle is however limited. I was wondering if there is any way the Gurobi solver can be linked to the Excel solver so larger problems can be solved.

Is there any way to do this? If so, how can I get this to work? If not, what is the best alternative to solve this problem.

Thanks,

check out Open Solver http://opensolver.org/ (which uses the cbc solver) for small problems as it is a drop in replacement

or

check out Solver Studio http://solverstudio.org/ (which can use other solvers) for bigger problems

Thank you for the answer. I have been looking into this, but with Solverstudio you have to formulate your model with the Python interface which I am not familiar with.

Is there any alternative way to formulate the problem with the Solver Add-in and then use Gurobi to solve it?

Thanks,
