I have run grbtune and have a .prm file of the best parameters for my model. But I cannot find in the documentation how to tell Gurobi, via the command line,
to use those parameters.  Can someone please inform me?

Have mercy on the ignorant.

thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

The help command for gurobi_cl tells me the following
Usage: gurobi_cl [param=value]* filename
For example, 'gurobi_cl Method=2 ResultFile=afiro.sol afiro.mps'.

I guess you have to open the PRM file and copy/paste the parameter into one commandline and then start gurobi_cl with these parameters. It would of course be more convenient if gurobi would get some capabilities to read the PRM files form the command line (Maybe the developers can arrange that in the next versions).

Best regards,
Jakob

Hi Dan,

You can use the InputFile parameter to specify a .prm file to use with
gurobi_cl. For example:

gurobi_cl InputFile=tune.prm mymodel.mps

The InputFile parameter is described in more detail here:
http://www.gurobi.com/documentation/5.6/reference-manual/inputfile

thanks. I did see that in the documentation. I should have been more specific. I was looking for the way to tell gurobi to use the .prm file. The next reply answers that.  thanks again,
Dan

Great, thanks. that is exactly what I was looking for - I knew there was a way, but couldn't find it through the keyword searches I did on pro and parameters etc.
